Projecting the Newcomers: Kyle Fulks

Where does incoming JC transfer Kyle Fulks project for 2015? We break it down

Kyle Fulks
Katy, TX (Blinn JC)
3 star WR
5-8, 168 lbs

The Recruitment
Fulks committed to Utah shortly after taking an official visit and initially planned to come in as a cornerback. The JC transfer shut things down after that and allowed the Utes to concentrate on bringing in other prospects. He was originally a Baylor signee back in 2013.

The Skinny
Dude can fly. He's a 3 to play 3 kid who sat out the 2014 season due to injury. Could end up playing on the other side of the ball at corner if things don't work out at receiver, but will start on offense, trying to add a spark for the Utes. In open space, he's tough to grab as the little guy is quite shifty and won't be caught from behind. A real burner.

2015 Projected Role
Fulks would generally strike most people as a slot guy that the Utes use on a lot of quick hitters. Not the plan. While he will line up inside, the Utes have big plans for Fulks to line up wide to help stretch the field, something they really missed last season. He'll be in the rotation and will have a great shot to get into the top 6 as long as he can show that his hands are sound.
