With team and emotional leaders like Kenneth Scott, Gionni Paul and Jared Norris, there's little chance of a Utah letdown here. Utah is vastly more talented than Utah State, and Chuckie Keeton just isn't the same QB he used to be. Booker gets his 100+ rushing yards, the defense gets 4+ sacks, and both Kendal Thompson and Chase Hansen make their first appearances of the 2015 season.

The Utes seem to have every advantage in this one. Better defense, better offense, better depth, better talent. Throw in the the home field advantage and I think this gets ugly, as Kyle keeps his players grounded and ready. I think Travis gets around 300 through the air and Booker goes for 100 on the ground, Britain Covey gets his first touchdown as a Ute. Lowell and the defensive line should have complete control of the line of scrimmage making Chuckie Keeton very uncomfortable. I expect to see a lot of quick slants and bubble screens from the Aggies; but the Utes defense will just be way too much.

Despite being a rivalry game, Utah will pull away early and never feel threatened for the rest of the game. The Aggies will play better against Utah than they did against SUU but the superior talent and depth the Utes have will be the difference. The key for the defense this week will be to wrap-up and not miss tackles as Utah St. will be looking to get the ball out of Keeton's hands quickly. Wilson will put together another solid performance and Covey should have a break-out game against the Aggies.

It's been said that the most improvement a football team makes during the season is from week 1 to week 2. Couple that with the fact that this is an in-state matchup where the last 2 matchups haven't gone the way the Utes have anticipated and you have the makings for another hard fought game between the Aggies and the Utes. This year, at least right now anyway, seems to be different. The Utes played a solid game last week against Michigan that saw Travis Wilson play composed and make good decisions. The Aggies on the other hand needed a 4th quarter punt return to beat of the Thunderbirds of Southern Utah 12-9. If we see the same Travis Wilson as last week, along with more solid play from the Utes defense then this one could get ugly in a hurry.

I don't think that's the real Utah State team that showed up last week against Southern Utah. Will they be the good enough to compete for a New Year's Day bowl game? Probably not as the offense looks to be a work in progress, but the defense is legit, and Chuckie Keeton has those dual-threat capabilities that have given Utah fits in the past. Still, the Utes are the more talented team and should be able to pick up some chunk yardage through the air, while the Aggies will struggle trying to do things 3 yards at a time. It won't be as close as the final score indicates.
