Utah football talks a lot about family. What a better way to show that than to bring in a new player who has a brother that will be on the team shortly. That's the case with Cottonwood High Schools' Fua Pututau, whose brother Howard was part of Utah's 2014 class and could be in line to follow his older sibling.
"I'm down to five schools right now and open to anyone in that top five."
Those schools are Utah, Washington, Oregon State, Colorado and Washington State.
"I really like Utah. They're close to home and have good coaches. With my brother committing there, it's a good option for me."
The 6-3, 230 pound 3 star prospect is being recruited by Utah safeties coach Morgan Scalley, and has developed a strong report with the former Utah safety.
"I really like Coach Scalley. He's a funny guy and we have a good relationship."
Pututau has made plenty of visits to Utah and has a very good understanding of what the school has to offer.
"The last time I was up there was for the Colorado game. It was really cold that day, but I had a great time. I love the environment at Utah. It's a place I feel really comfortable."
With his brother a future Ute, Fua is looking hard at Utah, but isn't receiving a ton of pressure to go there.
"When I get to talk to him, he's said that he wants me to make the best decision for me, whether or not that's Utah."
Pututau hasn't taken any official visits yet, but will be busy over the next two months.
"I'll be visiting Washington the first weekend in January and then going to Utah the weekend after that. The next weekend is Oregon State and I'm still working on setting up the visits to Colorado and Washington State. I'll make my decision once I finish the visits."
Pututau, who is LDS, whill serve a mission after graduating from high school.
