With signing day less than two weeks away, the Utes are looking to close out there class on a high note, and that could include a new prospect to the mix in LB Donavan Thompson.
"The recruitment is going well. It's been getting busier and I'm excited to take my visits."
WIth Utah offering Thompson, he's focusing on three schools, including the one he is currently committed to in Florida International.
"FIU, Utah, and UCF are the three schools I'm still looking at. I'm committed to FIU, but still want to check out some other places to make sure I find the best fit."
The 5-10, 220 pounder has two visits planned already, but that could change if he's able to set things up with the Utes.
"I'm taking a visit to UCF this weekend and then I'm scheduled to visit FIU the last weekend. I'm still trying to to setup a visit to Utah as well."
Much of Utah's recruiting success in Florida comes by way of one man's relationships, and that man is the one working with Thompson.
"Coach Erickson is the one that is recruiting me. It's a new relationship, but I like what I've heard from him about Utah and how well I can succeed there."
Thompson posted big numbers during his 2015 season that should leave whichever school he ends up very excited about his future.
"My strengths are tackling in space and I'm a hard hitter. Last season I had 141 tackles and 15 sacks."
