The Utah Utes have had some great success recruiting in the state of Texas, and they try to continue that trend with WR Bronson Boyd. The 6’3 185 pound receiver has seen his recruitment pick up quite a bit, so the Utes staff has their work cut out for them, but for a player like Bronson, it’s certainly worth it.
“My recruitment is going well, it’s picked up a lot lately. I’m up to 15 offers from schools like Utah, Indiana, Purdue, Texas Tech, Houston, and Wisconsin.”
He’s hearing from some other big name schools like Oregon, Texas A&M, and Mississippi State as well.
There are a lot of schools in the mix, but Bronson may be just what the Utes need at the WR position.
“I’m a guy that loves to make plays. I’ve played basketball my whole life so I can high point the ball easily. My route running is also something I do well. I want to embarrass DB’s when I’m out there, and just try to bring a confidence and swagger.”
With the success of last year’s Utes team, it’s opened recruits eyes, and Bronson is one of those that paid attention.
“They’re great, I love the program. I’ve got a good relationship with the coaches. I had never watched them before but I watched them a lot last year actually. They did really well, that Oregon game was crazy, I like the offense and the defense is really good too. I know they had some seniors on the team and are looking to replace those guys, but they’re really good.”
The big playmaker is being recruited heavily by Coach Holliday to play WR.
“He’s great. He’s honest with me and talks to me a lot, he’s really building a good relationship with me, and he’s just honest with me. He thinks I can be a real good player.”
When it comes to what factors will go into Bronson’s decision, he has a good idea of what he’s looking for.
“The education, specifically whether they have my major which will either be something in biology or business. My relationship with the coaches, I want to play for a coach that will communicate with me a lot and just be there for me, be that father figure to me. Then how I fit in the offense, and the opportunity to play early, I want to play my first year, so those will be the big factors.”
As of right now, the Utes have some work to do with Bronson as he is already planning on taking 3 of his official visits to Oregon, Texas Tech, and Houston. So securing one of the 2 official visits will be very important.

What is interesting though, is Bronson has actually visited the Utah campus, years ago, as a basketball camper but he hopes to take get out to Utah again soon.
“I visited Utah back when I was in 8th grade, but it was for basketball. So I’m familiar with Utah and like Utah a lot actually. I’ll be trying to get out there this summer to check out the new football facilities as well.”
That visit could be very important as Bronson wants to commit sometime during the summer, and could be as soon as June, so a visit would go a long ways for the Utes program.
