An open letter to UteZone subscribers:
After more than a decade of affiliation with Rivals, I made the decision to move UteZone to Scout. I know that some people are wary of change, and I want our loyal subscribers to know some of the reasons behind the move. The decision to move to Scout has been months in the making, and it didn’t come lightly. We have built an incredible community over the years, and I feel a tremendous responsibility to provide our loyal subscribers with not only top quality, accurate insider information but with the best possible user experience as well.
This commitment was ultimately the impetus behind the decision to change. Scout will provide UteZone with new opportunities to grow and deliver even more great content to our subscribers. Here are just a few of the reasons that we made the move:
Strong National Analysts - There are few in the business better at what they do than Scout west coast football analysts Brandon Huffman and Greg Biggins. They know what’s happening throughout California and the Pac-12 footprint better than anyone and work tirelessly to provide subscribers with the latest updates on recruits that matter to Ute fans. Scout's national team of basketball analysts is also the best in the industry. We'll still provide the same high volume of localized content, but we'll have a lot more help from the national guys.
A Stable Technology Platform - Scout is miles ahead of the competition in terms of building a technology platform that allows us to create and publish compelling content across multiple mediums, including video. Our loyal subscribers deserve a technology platform that is stable and available when they want to access it and innovates to deliver content to users in the way that they want to consume it. I feel strongly that Scout will deliver upon this to our users.
The Power of the Network - It’s important for a site that covers Utah football to be surrounded by other strong network sites that cover their teams and share insights with other fans. Scout is home to the largest and best site for every team in the Pac-12, many of which have recently made similar moves from Rivals. We have strong relationships with these sites and will leverage those relationships to provide Ute fans with relevant information.
An All Star Team of Reporters and Analysts - My vision from the beginning was to combine the staffs of UteZone and InsideTheUtes to create a Utah football super site. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with the existing Scout team of Brian Swinney, Andrew Gorringe, Steve Bartle and Joel Davidson. I am also grateful that James Durrant, Michelle Bodkin, Brett Borg and Jeff Dunn have decided to join me in the move to Scout. These people work their tails off to bring you solid, reliable insider information. You won’t find a better connected team of people anywhere, and we’re dedicated to providing an awesome experience for our subscribers.
For those who have been longtime UteZone subscribers, I want to thank you for your support over the years. This site has been a labor of love for those that work countless hours to deliver quality content to you, and we could not do it without your support. I would like to invite you to join me at Scout. You won’t be disappointed. You’ll get the same great content and fantastic atmosphere in the message board community that you’ve always enjoyed. I’ve worked hard to maintain a standard and my commitment to you to deliver a strong community of passionate, smart Ute fans remains unchanged. For those that have yet to subscribe, give us a chance.
