UteZone breaks down the top prospects on our radar for the class of 2017

The season is over, and Utah coaches have hit the recruiting trail in full force over the past week. With commitments starting to come in, Utah is closing in on filling out some of the key needs of the class. UteZone breaks down the top prospects on our radar as the recruiting season moves into high gear.

UteZone Top Ten

1 - Jay Tufele

Notes: The top recruit in Utah, Tufele has visited Michigan and Ohio State. He'll visit Utah and perhaps BYU before making a final decision. Utah is still in a good place with the Army All American.

2 - Tayler Katoa

Notes: Katoa has visited Washington, UCLA and USC, and will take his Utah official the weekend of 12/9 before making a final decision. Katoa has several family connections to the Utah program. He's planning on enrolling early wherever he commits.

3 - Eno Benjamin

Notes: The former Iowa commit recently visited Utah and is strongly considering the Utes along with Arizona State, Missouri and some of the Texas powers.

4 - Jordan Agasiva

Notes: Agasiva cut his list to three this week: Utah, Oregon State and TCU. He's visited all three programs and a final decision should be coming soon.

5 - Corrion Ballard

Notes: Ballard visited SLC two weeks ago, and has Utah in his top four, along with Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and Nebraska. Oklahoma State has been pushing especially hard in the last week.

6 - Jordan Lolohea

Notes: One of the top pass rushers in the state of Utah, Lolohea has attention from schools such as Washington, Colorado, Ohio State and BYU. He'll serve a two-year LDS mission before enrolling in school.

7 - Levani Damuni

Notes: Damuni flew under the radar due to an injury this year, but has programs such as Stanford, Virginia, Boise State and BYU in hot pursuit. He's expected to visit Utah in January. Damuni will likely serve a LDS mission before enrolling.

8 - Jhavonte Dean

Notes: One of the top JUCO cornerbacks in the country, Dean is currently committed to Alabama. But the Utes are pushing hard to get him to flip. He visited Utah two weeks ago and reportedly came away impressed.

9 - Tareke Lewis

Notes: Lewis visited Utah in October, and the Utes remain among his favorites. West Virginia and Maryland are the biggest competitors for Lewis. He's expected to decide by mid-December.

10 - Joe Tryon

Notes: A Washington State commit, Tryon visited Utah in November. He's expected to visit Oregon State, Wazzu and Washington in the coming weeks.
