UteZone breaks down the top recruits remaining on Utah's board

Signing day is a week away, and the Utes still have a handful of spots to fill before the recruiting class of 2017 is in the books. UteZone breaks down the top prospects remaining on the board as the coaching staff makes its final push to February 1.

UteZone Top Ten

1 - Jay Tufele

Visit Date: 1/27

Notes: Top recruit in the state of Utah will finally take his official visit this weekend. USC is likely the biggest threat for his services, but the Utes are looking to do enough during his visit to convince Tufele to be the next Hometown Hero.

2 - TJ Green

Visit Date: 1/20

Notes: Green, a longtime Oregon State commit, decommitted from the Beavers shortly after returning from his official visit to Salt Lake City over the weekend. He received an in-home visit with Utah coaches early this week and is expected to make a final decision soon.

3 - Bryan Thompson

Visit Date: 10/25

Notes: Thompson told Scout.com earlier this week that Utah is his leader over offers from schools such as Nebraska and UCLA. He’s not going to announce his decision until signing day, but with no more upcoming visits,

4 - Kevaughn Dingle

Visit Date: 1/20

Notes: Dingle is down to two programs: Utah, who he visited last week, and Kentucky, where he will visit this weekend. He was impressed by what he saw in Salt Lake City, and has a strong connection with many of the Florida contingent playing for the Utes already. A decision is expected shortly after his final visit.

5 - Nick Ford

Visit Date: 1/13

Notes: Ford is down to four schools: Cal, Utah, Washington and Colorado. He’s a Cal legacy, and has visited Utah and Washington in consecutive weeks. A final visit to Boulder will round out his trips and he’ll announce his decision on signing day. Ford wants to play defensive line, and Utah is happy to oblige.

6 - Daniel Green

Visit Date: 1/13

Notes: Green visited Utah two weeks ago and Kansas State last week. He cancelled a scheduled trip to Oregon State this coming weekend and will visit Ole Miss instead. According to multiple sources, Utah is well positioned with Green.

7 - Reggie Roberson

http://www.scout.com/player/205757-reggie-roberson?s=365

Visit Date: 1/20

Notes: Roberson visited Utah last weekend and was blown away by what he saw. He’s a big Steve Smith fan and likes the idea of playing in the same program as the Ute legend. Roberson will visit West Virginia this weekend before announcing a final decision on 1/30. Illinois is also a contender.

8 - Kelle Sanders

http://www.scout.com/player/207798-kelle-sanders?s=365

Visit Date: 1/20

Notes: Talented athlete grew up in Mississippi but relocated to Washington after Hurricane Katrina. He’s a skilled defensive end prospect that played quarterback for his high school as well. Sanders is currently committed to Washington State, but a flip may be in the works after a visit to Utah last weekend.

9 - Javelin Guidry

http://www.scout.com/player/199787-javelin-guidry?s=365

Visit Date: 1/13

Notes: Guidry is a California speedster that grew up in Texas. His final two schools are Utah and Texas, and he’s visited both in the past two weeks. Utah has been pushing hard for Guidry’s services, but the chance to return home and play for the Longhorns under a coach he has already committed to once (when Tom Herman was at Houston) may be too much.

10 - Jhavonte Dean

http://www.scout.com/player/191804-jhavonte-dean?s=365

Visit Date: 11/18

Notes: The top JUCO corner and former Alabama commit is down to two schools: Utah and Miami with a decision looming. He’s a Miami native, so the Hurricanes offer him the chance to return home. Utah is offering him a shot at early playing time, and he has a strong relationship with Morgan Scalley.
