COLORADO LB LIKES UTAH

Playing on national television does pay dividends. Utah is starting to get the attention of recruits with their fast start on the field.

Utah head coach Urban Meyer and his staff of assistant coaches have truly expanded the recruiting area for Utah. Utah is no longer a West Coast program only.

One of the top linebackers on the Utah recruiting board is Chris Kawulok, LB, 6-3, 215-pounds, Louisville, Col., (Monarch). So what does Kawulok think of the Utes? Did he watch the Utah – Oregon game on ESPN2 this past Friday night?

"Yeah I watched the game," Kawulok said excitedly. "I had a game Friday night and after it was over I hurried to get over and watched it at on the big screen."

Kawulok is open to his college position as well.

"Most schools are recruiting me for linebacker or defensive end. I don't care what I play really."

Right now Kawulok is concentrating on the four schools that have offered him: Utah, Colorado State, San Diego State and Wyoming.

"Those are the four I'm looking at," Kawulok said.

So was Colorado the program he followed growing up and is he interested in them?

"Yeah, I liked Colorado. I don't see anything happening there though. They send me some letters."

Monarch is one of the top programs in Colorado. They were the undefeated state champions last year in 4A and have yet to lose this season either with a 6-0 record.

Kawulok has a self-reported 3.1 GPA and 1,100 SAT.
