4-Star DT will visit Utes

Utah will be getting a visit from a four-star defensive lineman in January, but they could have some work to do. Kaniela Tuipulotu visited Arizona over the weekend and the Wildcats will have the edge, at least until he gets to Salt Lake City.

Tuipulotu is a four-star defensive tackle from Kahuku, Hawaii and is rated as the #17 defensive tackle in the nation.

He visited the Wildcats over the weekend and had a very good visit.

"It was good, I liked it a lot," Tuipulotu said. "It was surprising to me. It was a lot more spread out than I thought it was going to be and I really liked that. It is definitely a college town but it has a city kind of feel too. I liked it there. The campus was real nice and the weight room is awesome, I think it is the best in the country." Although the 6-2, 270 pounder really enjoyed his visit, he will be giving the Utes a look next month.

"I am going to visit Utah on January 12th," he said. "I might visit Oregon State too but I don't know for sure yet about that one."

Right now it is a two-team race, but the Utes have a little ground to make up.

"I like Utah and Arizona the most but I really thought hard about committing to Arizona when I was there," Tuipulotu said.

Tuipulotu has some ties to the Utes. He has been to the campus and knows some of the players.

"They've been good to me," Tuipulotu said in a prior interview. "Every time I go there, I really like it. I have a lot of friends there too."
