Hard luck season continues

A season of tough losses added yet another to the list as TCU upended Utah 71-68. It is the sixth loss by three points or less for the Utes.

It was lights out from behind the arc for the Horned Frogs. Brent Hacket and Kevin Langford hit five three pointers apiece, making all 10 TCU three pointers.

Utah tried to get a desperation rally in the finals seconds. Ricky Johns had two fouls shots with 1.2 seconds left. He made the first and then intentionally missed the second but the Utes could not get a shot off before the end of regulation.

TCU's Ryan Wall made four free throws in the final second to put the Horned Frogs up for good.

Luke Nevill had 19 points and 12 rebounds to lead Utah, and Johnnie Bryant added 23 points.

At 5-10 the Utes are off to their worst start since 1972. TCU won for the fist time in Salt Lake Cith since 1958.
