Lawndale (Calif.) Leuzinger linebacker Uona Kaveinga (6-1, 235) picked up a pair
of offers as the week closed. All indications are that they are but the first of
"Uona received his first offer from Utah on Thursday," said Leuzinger
assistant coach Ralph Oliver. "And he got his second offer today from BYU."
A pair of Pac-10 schools are also showing some interest in him.
"Oregon just requested some more film, so they may be offering him soon,"
said Oliver. "UCLA requested film on Monday so we sent that off. UCLA likes him
possibly as a fullback."
The Bay League Defensive Player of the Year as a junior, Kaevinga earned
second-team all-state underclass in 2006. He was an all-CIF selection and
finished the year with 111 tackles, 16 quarterback hurries, nine sacks, five
deflections, five fumble recoveries and four forced fumbles.
