Utah has a new offensive lineman. The Utes ventured to Southern Arizona and came away with a an intriguing prospect.

Utah offensive line coach Charlie dickey knows a little bit about the Tucson area. After all he coached and played at Arizona. He ventured back to his old stomping grounds and grabbed a player from Vail, Ariz. a community just outside of Tucson.

Zach Davila committed to Utah on Tuesday and Dickey was a major reason.

"I really got along great with coach Dickey," Davila said. "He told me he could turn me into a great offensive lineman."

Davila also fell in love with the Utah campus and Salt Lake City as a whole.

"I just love the environment," Davila said. "I fell in love with Salt Lake City and just think it is a place I can really grow."

Davila was scheduled to participate in the Arizona Elite Camp this weekend and could have gone a long way to earning a scholarship with the hometown Wildcats. Now that he is committed to Utah he will skip the camp and says the commitment is firm.

My word is my word," Davila said.

Although he believes he will most likely redshirt, he is working hard to get in shape and has made conditioning an emphasis over the summer.

"Now that I am committed I can focus on high school football and my senior year."
