5 Minutes With Siaosi Aiono

The Utes are solidifying their offensive line of the future and Covina (Ca) guard Siaosi Aiono figures to be a big part of that...

How has your summer been progressing?

I've been doing good at summer camps, getting stronger and faster.

What camps have you attended?

UCLA, USC, Utah, and Fresno State.

What made you decide on Utah?

My family and I sat down and went over all of the schools. We felt Utah was the prefect fit. I clicked with all of the coaches and it just felt right.

Were there any other schools you considered?

No. Utah is where I want to be.

How did the move to the Pac 10 affect your decision?

Honestly, it was just a bonus. It became a big bonus because I knew Utah was where I wanted to be.

Are you planning an official visit to Utah?

I'll be making an unofficial during fall camp in August with my family. We're going to drive out and spend some time with family out there and take in a few practices.

Are you planning any visits to other schools?

No. I'm pretty solid with my commitment. It's close to home, but not too close so I'm happy with my decision.

Are there any other schools showing interest?

Fresno State. Coach Hill and Coach Frazier made a big impression on me. I respect them a lot.

The Utes have a big recruiting class coming in for 2011. Are you close with any of the other players?

I know Isaac Asiata and Dan Kristensen. I met them at the St. George Camp. They're cool guys.

Are you coming in as a guard or a tackle?

I'm pretty sure I'm going to play guard or center.

What position are you playing now?

What are your goals for the upcoming season?

I want to get better. I wanted to commit early so I can focus on the season and not worry about having to impress schools on the field. Just play my game.

What are your goals before enrolling next year?

I want to get in shape and get stronger, add quickness. I can always work on my quickness.
