Bridgton prep-schooler Jeffrey Lark has seen his recruitment pickup over the past few months and recently transferred schools.
"I was at Cushing Academy in Massachusetts, but now I'm up at Bridgton in Maine," sad Lark. The reason I did that was because they'll let me leave early and graduate in December."
The number 49th ranked outside linebacker has a top three of Utah, Cal, and Arkansas, while also holding offers from LSU and Purdue.
"I visited Utah on June 16th before the BYU Nike Camp and loved it," he said. "They told me they were going to offer, but I haven't seen any paperwork yet."
Asked how the Utes going to the Pac 10 affected his decisions, Lark said it helps the Utes.
"Going to the Pac 10 or 12 or whatever is huge. I was at Utah on the 16th (of June) and they were invited the next day. They've also got great players and are recruiting great players. They want me as a cornerback."
While bigger schools have come calling, Lark says the name on the front of the jersey doesn't matter at this point.
"The name of the school doesn't matter to me. LSU is a big time school that guys would kill to go to, but I'm looking for my spot and my school that can get me to the league."
Originally from Texas, Lark wanted to stay in state before realizing his best options were elsewhere.
"Texas Tech and (Texas) A&M were recruiting me. So was TCU. I still talk to them sometimes, but I realized I wanted to get away and get out of state."
Lark plans on making a decision in the near future.
"I was planning on deciding between the 11th and 15th (of August), but I might wait a bit until we get into the season. I definitely want to decide before school starts."
