Fall Camp Day 5 Update

Players donned full pads for the first time and a highly regarded player made his debut...

First day in full pads.

Aaron Roderick has really taken over control of the offense. He's definitely in charge.

JC transfer receiver Martavious 'Mo' Lee was on the field and practicing, but not in pads.

Freshman receiver Jamal Smith was with the twos for part of the day today.

Every time I see freshman receiver Kenneth Scott, I'm more impressed with him physically. He's quite the specimen and will likely see playing time this year.

Kendrick Moeai seems to have created a little bit of separation between himself and the other tight ends. He looked great today and is a better blocker than his size would indicate.

Running back Tauni Vakapuna broke off a nice long run for a touchdown in 7 on 7 drills today.

Newly anointed first string strong safety Brian Blechen was an animal today. The true freshman started out the 11 vs 11's with a big hit on Eddie Wide and the coaches loved it. Blechen is around the ball on almost every play. The more I see him, the more I like him.

DeVonte Christopher continues his solid camp. He looks to have solidified a spot with the twos for now.

Kamaron Yancy has pretty much locked up his spot as the nickel back.

The offensive line didn't have a great day. Some of the younger guys were flagged for lining up improperly a few times. John Cullen made a mistake on one play and was given the verbal beating of a lifetime from the coaches.

The quarterbacks looked solid today as Jordan Wynn was fairly accurate on deep balls including a great throw and catch with Mo Lee during drills.

Matt Asiata continues to look better as camp goes on and was participating in all contact drills.

Eddie Wide is still the number 1 back in my eyes. he took a shovel pass from Jordan Wynn for about 20 yards before anyone got near him. His speed looks improved with the ball in his hands.
