Vanderbilt hosted Notre Dame transfer Matt Ryan on an official visit a little over two weeks ago and tonight the former high school 4-star recruit announced his decision to AnchorDown with the Commodores. Ryan is a threat from deep who fits into the style of play head coach Bryce Drew and his Commodores play in the Music City.

The Commodores continue to watch the transfer wire as this weekend they have brought in former Providence Friar small forward Ryan Fazekas for an official visit. The sophomore shooter decided to leave the Big East in search for better opportunities and the Commodores invision Fazekas as someone who could not only fit in with the school but the team as well.

Vanderbilt trailed the majority of the game but fought back to take the lead late against Northwestern but a mistake from a Commodores player and a missed shot on the last possession, ended the season and advanced the Wildcats to the second round of the West Region. Northwestern defeated Vanderbilt 68-66 and sent the Dores back to Nashville to wrap up the 2016-2017 season.

Vanderbilt's SEC Tournament magic ran dry on Saturday afternoon as Arkansas was the fresher and better team in the Razorbacks 76-62 victory over the Commodores. The legs weren't there and while the Commodores played with heart, the energy was not near good enough to defeat Arkansas, so now the Dores must await their postseason destination.

Vanderbilt and Arkansas will meet for the third time this season, today in the SEC Tournament Semifinal's. Both the Dores and the Hogs split this season series by winning on each other's court. Today is the rubber match with the winner advancing to the tourney championship game on Sunday afternoon.

Vanderbilt needed an extra five minutes to defeat Florida in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament tonight and now move on to face Arkansas in the semifinals. The Commodores beat the Gators for the 3rd time this season behind great play from the Vandy veterans and another gritty defensive performance that has them one game away from a chance at the tournament title.

A close game at halftime, Vanderbilt destroyed the Aggies in the 2nd half behind a barrage of three's and stellar defensive play to eventually come away with the victory, 66-41. The Commodores drained 11 three's on the evening and shot their way into round two to face off against a hungry Gators team who the Commodores defeated twice in the regular season.

Vanderbilt kicks off their SEC Tournament experience tonight, inside Bridgestone Arena against the Aggies of Texas A&M. Both teams played each other twice this season with the Commodores taking both games. Tip-off is set for 6:00 pm Central with the winner taking on #2 Florida on Friday evening.

Vanderbilt senior center Luke Kornet is focused on the SEC Tournament, which begins on Thursday but today, the Commodores team leader received 1st Team All-SEC honors along with being named the top academic player in the conference. Vanderbilt needed all 40 minutes today as they came from behind and found a way late to defeat the Florida Gators, 73-71. A stellar senior night performance from Luke Kornet along with clutch baskets by his teammates earned the Commodores a huge win that could have solidified their position in the 2017 NCAA Tournament.
