Rockwall (Tx) 4-star recruit Alston Orji is considered one of the top linebacker prospects in the country and tonight he announced his decision to attend college and play football with the Vanderbilt Commodores. Orji becomes the Commodores 4th commitment of the 2018 class and the first defensive prospect to pledge.

Per Adam Sparks of the Tennessean, Vanderbilt has announced that they have extended the contract of Commodores head football coach Derek Mason and given him a raise along with a larger recruiting budget. 3-star athlete Jaylan Franklin took to Twitter today to release his Top Five schools and the Vanderbilt Commodores made the list. The Michigan two way stand out visited Nashville last month and had such a good time that the Commodores were already seen as a contender at that point. Vanderbilt and Nevada have agreed to play in Nashville on September 8th, 2018 and this game completes the Commodores 2018 non-conference slate. This is a one game agreement between the Dores and Wolfpack and it will also be the very first meeting between the two schools one the football field.
