LAST WEEK (7-1)-----OVERALL (26-3)
Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in getting up every time we do. - Confucius
UAB @ UTK – This is a game the fans love before the season starts. A sure kill. Now, after being outscored 79-30 in the first 2 games, (UTM was more like a scrimmage), worry is beginning to set in. Forget it. The Blazers aren't world-beaters or even serious wanna-be's, and SEC talent will beat Conference USA talent hands down. UTK 35 – UAB 10
Fresno State @ Mississippi – The Rebels, or Hotty-Toddies, or Hoity-Toities, or Land Sharks, or whatever have legitimate cause for concern. It doesn't make any difference how good the QB is if the receivers keep dropping touchdown passes. Home field advantage should allow the whatevers to eke out a win, but just barely. Mississippi 24 – Fresno State 22.
West Virginia @ LSU – Regardless of the scores of the last two games, LSU has been winning ugly. WVU has been winning too, but against teams weaker than LSU's opponents. LSU 28 – WVU 10.
Alabama @ Arkansas – The Tide just keeps rolling along. Mostly healthy and back to full strength (i.e. Ingram is back), the Razorbacks will seem like a plate of pork ribs at Dreamland. Alabama 37 – Arkansas 17.
Kentucky @ Florida – A major reality check occurs for the Wildcats. They haven't been tested at all, and the Swamp will be a shock. Most of the UF players are out of jail, so Florida gets a nice SEC tune-up for next week's showdown with Alabama. Gators 30 – UK 21
Georgia @ Mississippi State – Part of me thinks that Georgia can't be that bad, but they sure looked it the last couple of weeks. This will be a real dogfight. Cowbell Dawgs 27 – UGA Dawgs 23.
South Carolina @ Auburn – The Plainsmen were lucky to escape Clemson last week with their lives. My feeling is that they left it all on the field against a non-conference opponent. South Carolina is for real this year, at least until they demonstrate otherwise. USC 28 – Auburn 17.
