Bernstein's Commitment Remains Solid

2011 Vandy commit, Jake Bernstein, took a visit to Nashville on last Saturday for the Vanderbilt-Eastern Michigan game. And after taking in some of the action from last Saturday's contest along with various other campus activities, the Crystal Lake South high school was certain he made the right decision.

"I'm pretty much solid right now," Bernstein said without hesitation. "Vanderbilt is where I have the best shot to play early, and a place where I can get a great education. I am definitely going to stick with my commitment. Plus, there's nothing better than the SEC."

Last Saturday's trip to Nashville was Bernstein's second time on campus. His first trip to Vandy was over the summer with his dad but this time around, the two of them had a little company. "My mom went with us this time," said Bernstein. "She wanted to see the campus, because she had never seen it before. My mom loved it."

Bernstein informed VandyMania that he was in Nashville until Monday night, which gave him some time to bond with a few of his future teammates. "I had a chance to hang out with some of the players," Bernstein said. "I actually got to spend time with some of the linemen. They're all just a bunch of great guys. I think it'll be good playing with them the next 4-5 years."

Bernstein is a 3-star prospect and is ranked 70th in the country at the offensive guard position according to Scout.com. He chose Vanderbilt over several schools including Indiana, Illinois, Colorado, Arizona, and Cincinnati.
