Who is Gus Malzahn?

Vanderbilt vice chancellor David Williams has reportedly spoken with at least six potential head coaching candidates. One of the candidates Williams is said to have contacted is Gus Malzahn. Look inside to find out more about Malzahn.

2007-08 Tulsa, co-offensive coordinator, assistant head coach, quarterbacks coach.
2009-pres. Auburn, offensive coordinator, quarterbacks coach.

Achievements: Malzahn has coached Shiloh Christian (2) and Springdale (1) to a total of three state championships. His 2005 Springdale team outscored its opponents 664-118. In 2006 in his first season as offensive coordinator at Arkansas he was named the National Offensive Coordinator of the Year. In 2007, his first year as offensive coordinator at Tulsa, the Golden Hurricanes were No. 1 nationally in total offense. Malzahn recently won the Broyles Award which is awarded to the nation's top college assistant.
