Baseball: Vanderbilt-Florida Suspended

NASHVILLE-– Friday night's game between Vanderbilt and Florida has been suspended due to rain with the Commodores leading 4-2 in the bottom of the sixth. Friday night's game will resume at 1 p.m. at Hawkins Field and the teams will finish the full nine innings. Saturday's scheduled game will begin 40 minutes after the completion of the suspended game.

Vanderbilt jumped out to an early lead with a run in the first inning on a Jason Esposito RBI-single. After the Gators tied the game in the second inning the Commodores rallied for three runs in the third to reclaim the lead. Esposito added his second RBI-single and Conrad Gregor capped the rally with a single to score Mike Yastrzemski.

VU starter Sonny Gray pitched six innings allowing two runs, one earned, on two hits with four strikeouts. Florida starter Hudson Randall gave up four runs, two earned, on eight hits in his five innings of work.
