Three pitchers combined for a shutout, and John Kaye and Zach Simpson each knocked solo homers as Vanderbilt won its second straight Southeastern Conference series with a 3-0 victory over Auburn Sunday at Hawkins Field.

It was the first time Auburn had been shut out all season.

The Commodores (22-20, 10-11 SEC) took two of three from the Tigers (32-13, 13-8), moving Vanderbilt into a second place tie in the East Division with South Carolina. Both teams are a half-game behind Florida.

Ryan Mullins (3-6) allowed six hits and struck out four in six innings to get the win. Jensen Lewis struck out two in the ninth for his seventh save.

Cory Dueitt (6-2) gave up two hits and one run in five innings to take the loss.

Kaye led off the fifth with his second home run of the year, and Simpson followed in the sixth with his first homer to give Vanderbilt a 3-0 lead. Jonathan Douillard earlier drove in the second run with a sacrifice fly.
