Kimbrow making his decision on Friday

Brian Kimbrow is one of the most sought after running back prospects in the South. The speedy East HS (Memphis, TN) star is set to make his decision and he gives the latest in an interview with

"I am announcing on Friday and it's between Vandy, North Carolina State, Cincinnati, Tennessee, Notre Dame, and Auburn," the 5-9, 165 pounder said.

The talented 2012 prospect plans on announcing his decision on the same day and same location as two other in-state prospects. Caleb Azubike and Cory Batey are those two other prospects and like Kimbrow, they both have Vanderbilt offers. Kimbrow is not sure if they will all be a package deal to one school or not.

"We are somewhat close friends," said Kimbrow. "We are announcing at the same place but we don't know where we are all going yet. I'm still thinking about my decision. I don't know if I will take visits after I make my decision. More than likely I will be done with my visits."

Vanderbilt is one of the finalists for Kimbrow and he shared what he likes about the Commodores.

"I like the coaches, location, and education at Vanderbilt," he said. "I also like the players there."

A number of college programs have been after Kimbrow for a long time. It should come as no surprise that two of the schools that he has formed the closest relationship with hail from his home state.

"Vandy, and Auburn are recruiting me the hardest right now," he said. "Auburn, Vandy, and Tennessee are the coaches that I have the closest bond with."

With his announcement closely on the horizon, there are a few other factors that will ultimately influence his decision. On July 1st, one lucky school could not only have the opportunity to gain a commitment from the state's top prospect, but two other top notch in-state prospects as well. At the end of the day, Kimbrow is looking for a place where he can see himself being happy for the next four or five years.

"Location is going to play a factor," said Kimbrow. "I want to be at a place that makes me happy." Top Stories
