Ranking the SEC

Alabama and LSU picked up important wins. The Crimson Tide and Florida will meet on Saturday in one of the biggest conference games of the season.

1. LSU- Dominating win at West Virginia proves LSU deserves No. 1 ranking. However, the Tigers have some very tough games coming up but not this week as the Tigers host lowly Kentucky.

2. Alabama- Tide rolls easily over Hogs. Limit Arkansas to just 17 yards rushing in 19 attempts. A visit to Gainesville won't be near as easy.

3. South Carolina- Gamecocks shut down the Vanderbilt offense to the tune of less than 80 total yards. USC continues its home stand with a visit from Auburn this week.

4. Florida- Gators bash Kentucky in Lexington. Is Florida back? We'll find out when the Gators play host to Alabama on Saturday.

5. Tennessee- Vols had a week to lick their wounds after loss at Florida. Should get an easy win over Buffalo in Knoxville.

6. Arkansas- Razorbacks showed that against Tide that it is not business as usual. They are a notch behind last season's team.

7. Auburn- Tigers handle Florida Atlantic, 30-14. Will have a tough challenge at South Carolina on Saturday afternoon.

8. Georgia- Bulldogs continue Ole Miss' misery with 27-13 win in Oxford. Georgia hosts Mississippi's other SEC team on Saturday.

9. Mississippi State- Bulldogs hang on to win in overtime against Louisiana Tech. Next up is a visit to Georgia in Athens.

10. Vanderbilt- Defense shows up while offense doesn't in 21-3 loss at South Carolina. Commodores get a bye week to prepare for Alabama.

11. Ole Miss- Rebs fell at home to Georgia. A visit to Fresno State, a team they scored 55 points on last season, is next on the agenda.

12. Kentucky- Wildcats fall at home to Florida, 48-10. Things won't get any easier as the Wildcats travel to LSU next.
