Ranking the SEC

Georgia beat Tennessee and leapfrogged the Vols in the rankings. Despite an ugly loss at Arkansas, Auburn stays put. Hogs are rising. Florida is spiraling downward rapidly. LSU and Alabama are still co-kings of the SEC.

1. (tie) LSU- Florida was no match for the Tigers in Baton Rouge. Tigers visit Tennessee on Saturday.

1. (tie) Alabama- Bama shuts down Vandy, 34-0. A trip to Ole Miss is next on the agenda.

3. Arkansas- Hogs thrashed Auburn and are clearly the third best team in the league right now. Arkansas gets a bye week to further fine tune its fine offense.

4. Auburn- Auburn has moved up despite a bad road loss to Arkansas. The Tigers should handle Florida at home on Saturday.

5. South Carolina- The Gamecocks and Steve Spurrier show no mercy to Kentucky. USC will travel to Mississippi State next.

6. Florida- Gators pummeled at LSU. Not sure what to do with them.

7. Georgia- Dogs bite Vols in Knoxville and head to Nashville for a meeting with Vanderbilt. After two losses to start the season, Georgia looks solid.

8. Tennessee- Vols lose ace Tyler Bray for six weeks and game to Georgia, 20-12. Bray should be back in time for Vandy.

9. Mississippi State- The Bulldogs stifled UAB 21-3 and hope to get their first conference victory on Saturday when they host South Carolina.

10. Vanderbilt- Crimson Tide shuts out the Commodores. Vandy hosts a surging Georgia team on Saturday.

11. Ole Miss- The Rebs, like Vandy, got a week off to prepare for this week's opponent, Alabama. However, Ole Miss they get the Tide in Oxford.

12. Kentucky- UK was thrashed 54-3 by South Carolina. The Wildcats get a bye week to prepare for Jacksonville State. They might need it as JSU recently defeated a Murray State team that gave rival Louisville fits.
