Vanderbilt offers Maverick Morgan

Fresh off getting a commit from Sheldon Jeter on Thursday night, Vanderbilt has now offered 6-foot-10, 240 pound Maverick Morgan from Ohio.

Star Commodore big man Festus Ezeli will graduate soon and rising red-shirt sophomore Josh Henderson is still on crutches. Vanderbilt needs a big man for in order to build for the future and 2013 prospect Maverick Morgan might just fill that void. Vanderbilt has apparently seen enough of him to extend an offer.

Morgan, who has grown over two inches the past two years, reportedly has an affective medium range shot making all from over 10 feet at recent all-star game, including 3-of-3 from 15 feet. He has good hands and moves well up and down the court. Scouts have commented several times that he needs to work on his rebounding.

In addition to Vandy, Morgan has caught the attention multiple programs including Iowa State, Minnesota, USC, West Virginia and Xavier who have all extended offers. Besides the aforementioned schools, Kansas State, Butler, Ohio State, Wisconsin and Illinois have also been in close contact with the Ohio big man. Top Stories
