The 6-5, 285-pound offensive lineman was a senior captain and two-way starter for Lower Cape May High School, located on the southern tip of New Jersey. Eames was named All-State, All-Region, All-District and All-County as a senior offensive tackle. As a National Honor Society member, Eames also earned Scholar Athlete All-American status from the National Football Foundation.
In high school Eames paved the way for record-setting Lower Cape May tailback and Villanova signee Matt Dicken, who rushed for more than 4,000 yards in his career. On defense, Eames finished his career with 135 tackles and nine sacks. He also played center on the varsity basketball squad.
Eames is one of 21 high school signees expected to report to campus in August for the opening of Vanderbilt's fall football practice. Freshmen and upperclassmen are scheduled to arrive Tuesday, August 5.
