Tre Bell flips to Vanderbilt

3-star cornerback Tre Bell (Jersey City, N.J.) has switched his school choice from Florida to Vanderbilt according to his head coach.

Tre Bell will now work to beat Florida instead of playing for the Gators.

St. Peter's Prep head coach Rich Hansen confirmed today that his player, Tre Bell, has committed to Vanderbilt.

"It's official," said Hansen.

Hansen quotes:

"He has a better chance to play at Vandy. We have kids at our school who can't even get into Vandy and he's going to go there. It's probably in the top 5 schools in the country outside the Ivy League, how do you turn it down? It's one of those schools. They have something going on at Vandy; I'm glad he's going there."

"Tre Bell has as good of ball schools as a player that we've had at that position. He needs to focus on getting stronger and he will get his speed down from 4.6 to 4.4 when he does it. He reason he's not a 4.4 kid is he doesn't have enough size in the lower body to be fast. He has unbelievable ball skills. He picked off two balls in practice today that were as impressive as Will Hill [Florida player from St. Peter's]."

"I'm just excited he's going to a better place for him. I told him today he will be happier, he will be better and he will have a better career."

Bell also had offers from the likes Boise State, Connecticut, Maryland, Michigan, Nebraska, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Rutgers, South Carolina, West Virginia and Wisconsin. Top Stories
