Defensive End Landon Stokes of Lake High Preparatory School (Orlando, Fla.) has signed with the Vanderbilt Commodores on Wednesday. Look inside for a photo and quotes from Stokes.

"It definitely feels great to be a Commodore," said Stokes. "It bigger than making a verbal commitment. I'll be a part of Vanderbilt forever. I've always wanted to play in the SEC and now I get my chance. I'm grateful for the opportunity.

"After I signed, I spoke with Coach Bankins. He said everything was good. It was fun to watch them on the internet get fired up about the recruits we ended with. I think we're going to do big things in the SEC with this class."

Stokes had a small ceremony at his high school with a couple of close friends, family, and his head coach, Tim Borcky. Currently, Stokes is receiving from an ACL tear and is about eight weeks out for being able to begin jogging. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound defensive lineman says he'll be ready to go by summer. Top Stories
