ESPN's bracketology projects Vanderbilt to get a No. 9 seed and play Michigan State in the Columbus, Ohio. Meanwhile, Collegesportsmadness.com gives Vandy a No. 8 seed and projects a meeting with No. 9 seed South Florida.
Vandy's women have been to 13 consecutive NCAA tournaments and have an overall record of 38-25 in the event. The Commodores have been to 25 NCAA tournaments combined. That number is third best in the SEC.
If by some wild development Vanderbilt does not receive an NCAA at large bid the Commodores should easily qualify for the 64 team Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT). That tournament's field will be announced sometime between 11 pm and midnight on Monday night via the tournament's website.
