NAME: Jordan Matthews

POSITION: WR

CLASS: SR

HT/WT: 6-3, 205

OVERVIEW: Matthews has progressively gotten better each year he has been at Vandy. He had 15 catches as a freshman in 2010. That number jumped to 41 during his sophomore campaign and then ballooned to 94 last season. Matthews, a Biletnikoff Award candidate, needs 87 catches in 2013 to break former 'Dore Earl Bennett's SEC record for career catches. Matthews strengths are his excellent hands, rangy build and solid speed. He also has tremendous self discipline and work ethic.

PROJECTION FOR 2013: Starter. At most SEC schools Matthews would have been long gone to the NFL but the value of a Vanderbilt education coupled with Matthews' dedication to helping Vandy achieve a championship enabled the Commodores to return an NFL caliber WR for 2013.
