VU WBB: Picture Day 2013-2014

On Wednesday afternoon players and staff gathered in Memorial Gym for the annual women's basketball photo shoot to take official photos for the upcoming season. Whitney D. stopped by and shares these photos from the afternoon.

In the old days, the annual photo shoot featured one professional photographer and one camera. After digital cameras became common, amateur photographers on the team joined the professional. Nowadays, when every smart phone is also a digital camera, for the student athletes, "picture day" means taking pictures as well as posing for pictures.

Over the course of the season, the official photos will appear in various Vanderbilt publications, both on-line and printed, and in promotional materials for the basketball team. These unofficial photos provide a look behind the scenes as well as a preview of some of the photos that fans will see in the future.
