Reports: Pep Hamilton Vandy Candidate

By now Vanderbilt athletic director David Williams should be interviewing candidates for the open Commodore head coach position. Another name that has surfaced in connection with Vandy is Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton.

Pep Hamilton, 39-years-old, played college football at Howard University graduating in 1996. In addition to Indianapolis, he has had assistant coaching positions with the New York Jets (3 years, QB/WR), Chicago Bears (3 years, QB).

Before his current position with the Colts Hamilton served as the offensive coordinator for Stanford from 2011-2012. Additionally, he coach the Cardinal wide receivers in 2010.

This season the Colt's offense averaged 21 points a game.

Several reports, including ESPN's Adam Schefter, are saying Hamilton is a candidate for the head coach position at Vanderbilt University.

He joins Derek Mason of Stanford and Clemson offensive coordinator Chad Morris as the top candiates for the job. Top Stories
