Dallas Rivers talks signing with Vanderbilt

Running back Dallas Rivers of Stephenson High School (Stone Mountain, Ga.) signed with Vanderbilt on Wednesday. Look inside for a photo and quotes from Rivers.

"Signing Day was everything I've been waiting for," said Rivers. "I've been anticipating this day for quite some time. I've been done with my recruiting since last March when I committed to Vanderbilt, but I was still looking forward to today. I woke up at 7 a.m and got ready for out ceremony at 9. Then we went to Taco Mac Sports Grill for Media Day.

"When I committed to Vandy, I did so regardless of the coaching staff. I fell in love with the city and the university offers a unique blend of top athletics and academics. When I went on my official visit, I got to know the new coaches better. They're energetic, good guys, who know how to win. Coach Bankins is going to be my position coach and I got to talk a little with Coach Dorrell and really like him too.

"When I go in this summer, I'm hoping to make an immediate impact. I'm just going to work my butt off and try to show what I can do."

A three-year starter at Stephenson, Rivers, 6-foot-1, 215-pounds, was first team All-Region (Georgia 6/5A) and rushed for 1,200 yards and 22 touchdowns as a senior.
