On Sunday afternoon, Vanderbilt fell to Mississippi State 64-62 in Starkville, MS. Three Dores scored in double figures led by Christina Foggie with 15. Jasmine Lister and Morgan Batey added 13 points each. Batey also led the team in rebounds with 11 boards for the first double double of her career.
Sunday afternoon felt like Groundhog's Day, or as Yogi Berra would say, deja vu all over again. Once again, Vanderbilt
was in a tense, nail-lbiter down the stretch, with the game available for the taking in the last minute of the game, and once again fell short.
One of the bright spots of the game was Morgan Batey's performance, as she scored 13 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. Also notable was Christina Foggie's 3-pointer late in the first half that put her at the top of the Vanderbilt record book in 3-pointers made in a career.
With the loss, Vanderbilt fell to 17-9 overall, and 6-6 in the SEC. Next action for Vanderbilt is once again on the road as the Dores travel to Arkansas
for a Thursday night game before returning to Nashville to host Alabama
