Blasingame: Set up for life with Vandy

"It went real well," said Khari Blasingame on signing with the Commodores. "I signed at school with my coaches and my teammates all around me. It felt great. I'm glad it's finally over with and it's official.

"I must have said it a thousand times already, but I love the education at Vanderbilt. I love the location, the school, and the people too. I feel like I have the opportunity to play big time college football and by set up for life with a great education.

"I liked Coach Mason a lot. He offered me at defensive back but didn't specify cornerback or safety. My goal coming in is to work hard and find my role within the program."

Blasingame, 6-foot-1, 200-pounds, was a three-year starter at Buckhorn. He played mostly cornerback as a junior but switched to safety for his senior season. In 2013, he was named second team All-State and All-Tennessee Valley.

Blasingame was recruited by Vanderbilt's new wide receivers coach, Gerry Gdowski. Top Stories
