Andrew Williamson on possible 2014 stars

Andrew Williamson a 6-foot-1 208-pound junior safety out of San Antonio will likely take over the starting role of free safety with the departure of Kenny Ladler to the NFL's Bills. He spoke at SEC Media Days about other players who could see the starting lineup for the first time for the Vanderbilt Commodores in the upcoming season.

"The player who I feel had made the most improvement is Brian Kimbrow," Williamson said. "He's been looking great. I think that he'll make a big impact on the team this year. The quarterback job is still up for grabs but Stephen Rivers has looked magnificent. He puts the ball in the right places where the the DB's can't get to it. He's got a great touch on the ball.

"The other day he went to the stands (in the stadium) and hit the field goal post three times in a row with the ball. We all shook our heads and said 'wow'.

"Tre Bell has looked outstanding in the secondary. Losing (Jordan) Matthews was big, but C.J. Duncan is the kind of big play receiver we're going to count on to step up to fill that void." Top Stories
