Josh Crawford Profile

The 5-foot-10, 205-pound running back was the first commitment that newly-hired head coach Derek Mason received in the Spring of 2014.

"It's always been my dream to play in the SEC and what better place to do that then at Vanderbilt. They have great academics and it's close to home."

"The coaches have told me I have the chance to play early. They like that I'm a big, athletic back with good lateral quickness and power. Basically, they think I'm an every-down back who can do a lot of things like catch the ball out of the backfield or take it between the tackles."

Josh Crawford was a two-year captain and three-year starter for Edgewood Academy. He was an integral part of a team that went 41-0 and won three Class AA AISA state championships. Crawford was named Alabama's 2014 AISA Back of the Year after rushing for 1,198 yards and 27 touchdowns. He was a two-year All-State selection. Crawford was the Montgomery AISA All-Metro Player of the Year and three-time All-Region recipient. Crawford had 101 touchdowns and more than 4,000 rushing yards in his career. He also lettered three years in basketball and track and field. Top Stories
