VU target: "I kind of rushed" with decision

Hudson (FL) offensive tackle Grayson Stover de-committed from Virginia several weeks ago with the intentions of slowing his recruitment down and focusing on making the best decision for him.

Quickly after breaking away from the Cavaliers, Stover was linked to looking into a specific set of schools, including the Vanderbilt Commodores.

The Vandy staff offered Stover over a month ago and has remained in touch ever since.

With the high school football season upon us, Stover is mainly focusing on his team and their prep for the season but he is also looking to nail down some dates for official visits with the schools he is mainly interested in.

“Presently I am working out the details for my official visits and trying to pick the dates for when I plan to check out the schools I am interested in. Right now the four schools I am looking into is Maryland, Vanderbilt, South Florida and Indiana. I talk to those schools the most and those are the schools I am really interested in. I should have some dates set in stone very soon with all four of these schools,” said Stover.

Vanderbilt in particular is a place Stover has been interested in for a while now and he is excited to eventually make it to campus to see what the Commodores are all about.

“I have remained in touch with the coaches at Vandy and I think from everything I know, I could be their number one target for the offensive line,” Stover said. “I appreciate their interest in me and how much they value my talents. Education is a big deal to me and I know Vanderbilt is one of the top schools in the country. They are also in the SEC, so the combination they offer is really intriguing to me. I definitely plan to officially visit them, I just haven’t nailed down an exact date just yet.”

Stover plans to take all his official visit before making a final decision.

He doesn’t want to rush anything and make a quick decision like he did when he committed to Virginia. Stover will take all his visits, gather all the information and then talk things over with his family before making a college commitment.

“I am really taking my time now with all the schools I am involved with. I feel like I kind of rushed into making an early commitment, so this time around I will take in all the information from the schools I am interested in and then proceed to make that final choice.”
