Vanderbilt women visit Drexel

The Vanderbilt Commodore women visit Drexel on Thursday night in Philadelphia. Here is your preview of the Drexel Dragons.

The 2-3 Drexel Dragons of the Colonial Athletic Association opened with three games in the Women's Preseason NIT.   The first game being a 69-53 home win over Dartmouth.  The Dragons then fell at South Florida 73-58 before winning at St. Bonaventure 58-46.   Most recently Drexel lost in the Christmas City Classic to Villanova 67-55 and then also dropped the consolation game to Montana, 58-50. 

Drexel, like Vandy, is not particulary tall but has some shooters.  Sarah Curran who averages 16.8 points per game. Curran has connected on seven of 19 three pointers this season. Rachel Pearson (11 ppg) is the biggest Dragon threat from the 3-point arc, having made 12 of 30 attempts (40%).  The Dragons have four different players who have made 36 percent or better from three.  Curran also leads the Dragons in rebounding with nearly five boards a game.
