JoeJuan Williams commits to Vanderbilt

Vanderbilt's 2016 recruiting crop received a huge boost on Saturday afternoon when 4-star defensive back JoeJuan Williams announced he was picking the Commodores.

The Vanderbilt coaching staff received a huge commit on Saturday afternoon when 4-star defensive back JoeJuan Williams announced he would play for the Commodores.

Williams made his announcement via twitter first tweeting a photo of a decorated cake with small Vanderbilt and LSU pennants on it, saying he would announce his decision soon. Later Williams tweeted "Vanderbilt is my home! and attached a letter thanking all those who had supported him during the recruiting process. 

As a junior in 2014 Williams recorded 48 tackles, two interceptions and 11 pass breakups.  He did not play in 2015 due to being ruled ineligible by the TSSAA for not meeting school territory requirements after transfering to Hendersonville from Father Ryan, simply put, Hendersonville high school and Father Ryan are in the same territory to transfering was not allowed.

Williams had over 35 offers including offers from Oklahoma, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Penn State and every school in the SEC.  Williams had officially visited Vanderbilt in November. He is expected to enroll in January at Vandy, according to some reports. 

With the addition of Williams, Vanderbilt now has 14 verbals for the 2016 recruiting class.
