The Commodores became Gumbs 14th official offer but even he admits that he did not know much about Vanderbilt until he started to research the school. Now that he has a bigger picture of what Vanderbilt is all about, Gumbs is very intrigued by the Dores offer.
“I was excited to get the offer from Vanderbilt and I heard of them before but I honestly did not know a lot,” said Gumbs. “After taking a deeper look into their program and the city of Nashville, Vanderbilt really interests me and I’m looking forward to remaining in contact with the coaches but also continue to learn more about their program.”
Gumbs is already establishing himself as one of the top overall defensive prospects in the state of California.
Standing 6’4 205 pounds, Gumbs is a versatile and athletic guy who could play multiple positions on the collegiate level. His range, length and speed screams stardom to several defensive coordinators around the college game and he is nowhere close to being a finished product.
Gumbs admits that he still needs time to complete his growth as a player but you can’t deny his work ethic and his desire to be the best.
