Vanderbilt offers OL Patrick Leitten

Ravenwood (TN) offensive tackle Patrick Leitten is still growing as a football player but that hasn’t stopped college coaches from viewing the Middle Tennessee area lineman as someone with strong potential on the college playing field.

“Vanderbilt is a special school and a place I know I could succeed at both athletically and academically,” he said. “I feel very honored to have an offer from them and it means a lot for them to become my first major offer.”

The Commodores became Patrick Leitten third overall offer behind previous ones from Illinois State and Wyoming.

The Vanderbilt offer was not an offer Leitten was expecting but after being invited over for an on-campus visit, the 6-foot-7 tackle had a feeling good news could be arriving.

“I have had off and on contact with Vanderbilt for about a year now but I really started talking to them more at the beginning of this year,” he said. “They contacted me early last week and said that they wanted me to come up for a visit and that they wanted to show me around the campus, facilities and more. I didn’t think I automatically had an offer waiting on me but I was very hopeful.”
