Vanderbilt offers 4-star OL Tommy Brown

Derek Mason and his Vanderbilt staff continue to pursue some of the top talent in the nation. On Wednesday the Commodores extended an offer to 4-star 2018 offensive lineman Tommy Brown from Mater Dei high school in California.

Tommy Brown, who received his offer while visiting Vanderbilt, was offered by the Commodore staff on Wednesday.  Brown announced the new offer in a post on twitter saying, "Had a great day at Vanderbilt today and I'm excited to announce they have offered."

Brown, rated by as the No. 1 offensive tackle prospect in Califonia, already has an impressive list of offers including Arizona State, Colorado, California, Florida, Missouri, UCLA and Virginia in addition to Vandy.  He also has interest from teams like Alabama, LSU, and USC.

Scout UCLA watched Brown at the Oakland Opening and had some good things to say about the talented lineman.

"He did well in the one-on-ones, showing good feet and aggressiveness.  He clearly is already a big target, with UCLA having already offered him, and he’ll be perhaps the No. 1 OL target in the west for 2018."

The nation's No. 82 prospect overall according to Scout, it's refreshing to see a player of this caliber visiting the VU campus.  He may indeed end up going somewhere else but the fact that he visited is a good sign for the Vandy Nation.
