Zach Sheffer announced his Vandy offer in a tweet saying. "Thankful to announce an offer from @VandyFootball."
Sheffer, who will be a junior in the upcoming football season, already has an impressive offer list almost two years before he graduates from high school. Auburn, Michigan, Virginia Tech, Minnesota, South Carolina, Rutgers, Duke and Tennessee are some of the power conference teams that have offered him in addition to Vandy. Watching his film it's easy to see why college coaches want him. He's got the ability to lay a sound block but can also make tough catches. Simply put, he's a player that can compliment both a team's passing and running game.
In June Sheffer told Scout.com's Jason Stamm what he is looking for in a school.
“Things I look for are gameday atmosphere, the fan base and what it’s gonna be like,” Sheffer said. “If I picture myself going for four years, I wanna know the experience. I look at the facilities, academics and whether it has high academics. If they expect players to be just as good in football as academics."
One factoid that makes Sheffer an even more attractive prospect to major programs is that he is on schedule to be an early enrollee which mean's he'd be able to take part in spring practice prior to his first season.
There's still a long time to go before Signing Day 2018 but whichever program wins the Zach Sheffer sweepstakes will pick up a solid player that has the potential to make an early impact.

James is a mobile headhunter similar to Oren Burks. James recently said told Scout.com that USC was “at the top somewhere.” However, don't discount the recruiting magic of Vandy linebackers coach Chris Marve.
Another Brandon, wide receiver Brandon Smith from Lake Cormorant, Miss., picked up a Commodore offer. A 3-star Scout.com prospect, Smith caught 78 passes for 1,382 yards and 15 TDs last season. He was recently named to the Magnolia Preps Dandy Dozen list. Smith is an Iowa commit and has offers from Southern Miss, Arkansas State, Texas-San Antonio in addition to Vandy.
There are also reports in cyberspace of a Vanderbilt offer to a 2020 cornerback from Los Angeles VandyMania is working to confirm that information.
