Interview: 2018 Vandy target TE Zach Sheffer

Vanderbilt recently offered Florida 2018 tight end Zach Sheffer. Sheffer joined VandyMania for an interview to talk about his capabilities and recruiting. Look inside to get full details.

VM: You visited Vanderbilt recently.  What were some of the things you liked about Vandy?

ZS: I really liked the campus; everything was in walking distance also I was very impressed with the football facilities.

VM: What kind of things did the Vandy coaches say that they liked about you?

ZS: They were very impressed with my blocking and how I finish my blocks they also liked how I could reach out and catch balls in traffic.

VM: What is your height/weight and 40 speed?

ZS: 6'3, 230. 4.8 forty.

VM: Who is the Vandy assistant that is primarily recruiting you?

ZS: Chris Marve.

VM: How many catches (and yards, TDs) did you make last year?

ZS: I had 300 yards, 26 catches, 3 TDs.

VM: Did you get any All-State, All-Region honors or anything like that?

ZS: 1st team all-district.

VM: Do you have any visits coming up soon?

ZS: No other visits planned as we start practice on Monday.

VM: What schools are recruiting you the hardest?

ZS: I hear from Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, South Carolina and Michigan the most but have contact with several others.

VM: What are you planning on majoring in at college?

ZS: I plan to major in Economics or Finance.

VM: How are you in the classroom?

ZS: 3.1 GPA.

VM: Do you play any other sports?

ZS: I also do track.

VM: When do you plan to make a decision on the college you will be attending?

ZS: I plan on deciding next spring or summer.
