Commodores land 3-star Carolina Def. End

Vanderbilt has picked up a commitment today from Orange (NC) defensive end Stone Edwards. The 6'4 240 lb lineman fills a need for the Commodores as he offers size, smarts and versatility.

Edwards is a late rising recruit that jumped onto the Commodores radar a little over a month ago. Things began to heat up recently after Edwards was visited at school by Commodores D-line coach C.J. Ah You and the two parties agreed to come to Nashville this weekend for an official visit.

The North Carolina native fits the bill of a Commodores football recruit. He is a strong student inside the classroom on top of being a guy that has strong potential on the football field. Edwards is a big guy with a great frame to add weight. He gives you versatility along the defensive line because of his strength, length and ability to play inside if need be.

Everything he saw on campus this weekend suited his needs and his pledge gives the Commodores their 13th commit of the 2017 class and another piece to add along the Commodores defensive line.

The 3-star lineman choose Vanderbilt over offers from Buffalo, Miami OH, Marshall, Toledo and others.
