Bolar lands latest SEC offer from Vanderbilt

Purvis (MS) wide receiver C.J. Bolar picked up his latest offer tonight from the Vanderbilt Commodores. The 3-star recruit has been hot of late on the recruiting trail and he talks here with DoresDaily about Vanderbilt, their offer and his interest in the SEC program.

Vanderbilt became the latest school to offer Purvis (MS) wide receiver C.J. Bolar tonight but it's an offer he wasn't really expecting.

The 3-star recruit received word about needing to reach out to the Commodores coaching staff without really knowing why. Once he made contact with Vanderbilt wide receiver's coach Cortez Hankton, Bolar received the good news about the offer.

"My high school told me Vanderbilt wanted to talk with me, so I contact them and talked with Coach Hankton where he told me about the offer. I was very excited about the news and honored to receive an offer from them," he said.

Bolar and Vanderbilt haven't had too much contact in the past but the Mississippi wideout plans to remain in touch going forward with the idea of eventually visiting campus.

"Vanderbilt is a very prestigious school and for them to have interest in me as a student-athlete, is a great honor to me," Bolar said. "I want to learn more about their school and football program, so I definitely plan to remain in talks with their coaches. I also would like to visit but I don't know right now when that will be. I have a lot of things going on right now, so when I am able to clear things up, I will start to set up plans to see them."

The Commodores joined the likes of Arkansas St, Louisville, Memphis, MTSU, Miss State, Southern Miss, Tennessee, Tulane and others to offer Bolar.

While Vanderbilt has now offered and joined the race for Bolar, they along with others will have to wait as the 3-star receiver remains patient in his recruiting process.

"Well like I said earlier, I have a lot I am dealing with right now, so I'm a far way off from making any decisions on a school," said Bolar. "I know that I have a long way to go before I have to make any choices, so I am going to remain patient, take the steps I need to and make the decision whenever I feel the time is right."
