Lee (AL) defensive end Malik Langham has been one of the top overall targets for Vanderbilt this recruiting season and today the 3-star recruit narrowed his list down to his top eleven schools. The Commodores made the cut!
Langham is a big and physical defensive lineman who has the frame and length to add more weight and possibly play multiple positions along the defensive line. The Commodores were one of the first schools to jump on the 3-star recruit and have remained very active in his recruitment since.
Rated as the No. 2 defensive end from the state of Alabama, Langham slimmed things down to eleven schools with seven of them coming from the SEC. Along with Vanderbilt, Langham also named Tennessee, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Miss State, South Carolina and Georgia among his top eleven.
Vanderbilt has hosted Langham for a visit and plans are for the 6'6 270 pound lineman to visit yet again sometime this summer. He very well could be in Nashville for the Commodores Friday Night Lights event next month.
The potential on the next level for Langham is big and he has really yet to mature with his body. He is still growing and getting bigger and learning the game of football every day. Many schools around the country, especially the ones among his top eleven, see this potential in Langham and all are hopeful to gain his commitment.
It is unclear as to when Langham might decide but past talks say's that the Yellowhammer State defensive end won't make a final decision until sometime this fall or winter. Look for Langham to take several visits over the summer and even narrow his list down further before the start of his senior season.
